Abstract :
The Romanian part of the Carpathian mountain chain is divided into a number of structural units. Beginning from the innermost region, the following units can be distinguished: The Inner Dacides, the Transylvanides, the Middle Dacides, the Outer Dacides, the Marginal Dacides, the Moldavides and finally the Carpathian foredeep.
